Coach Meesh is a PD alum from the Class of 2004. While a student at PD, she played basketball and soccer in middle school and found her love for field hockey in high school. She earned All-Conference and All-State honors her junior and senior year for field hockey. While at Wake Forest University, she started coaching at Forsyth Country Day School her sophomore year (2005) and has been coaching since. After completing a BA degree in History, Coach Meesh decided to stay in Winston-Salem to work for the YMCA (teaching nutrition and PE in Title 1 schools) and coach field hockey and lacrosse at West Forsyth. She headed back to Charlotte to pursue a Master’s degree in middle grades mathematics education and began working at PD (2011) as a field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse coach and started as a 5th grade assistant teacher. Coach Meesh currently is a middle school math teacher, varsity field hockey head coach and program head, and JV girls soccer assistant coach. Additionally, she is the U16 Program Head and U16 Elite Head Coach at the local field hockey club Charlotte Ambush.

The Providence Day School Field Hockey program is committed to developing a positive team environment where young ladies learn to challenge themselves, embrace risks on and off the field and learn valuable teamwork skills.
The Field Hockey Program has seen achieved much success competing in one of the strongest field hockey conferences in the state of North Carolina. Providence Day School Field Hockey Program strives to give every player an opportunity to fall in love with the sport and embrace the game as a lifetime sport.
Our Upper School athletic teams at Providence Day are members of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association. This association is designed to encourage participation in athletics while providing a structured environment.
As part of the NCISAA, student-athletes will have the opportunity to develop the skills necessary for team work, social interaction, athletic and sport-specific skills, as well as, develop a school centered competitive spirit.
