The Boys Lacrosse program began under the direction of Mark Fader in 1996. In 1996 it started as a club program and began playing under the CISAA and NCISAA in 1997. In his eight seasons at the helm, he accumulated a record of
78-58. Under Coach Fader, Providence Day lacrosse began to emerge as one of the top programs in the area. 2005 entered a new era as Bobby Thompson took over for the departed Coach Fader.

The Chargers captured their first conference championship in 2005 and finished 3rd in the NCISAA that year. The Chargers would reach the state championship in 2006 and 2007, winning the schools’ first title in 2007. After a semi-final exit in
the 2008 playoffs, the Chargers would return to the championship game in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2018, 2021, 2023, & 2024, winning another State Title in 2021.

Providence Day School Lacrosse is committed to excellence on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. The program stresses Commitment, Class, and Character, the team’s motto. Chargers Lacrosse players are well prepared to
take on life after growing into strong, dynamic young men during their time at Providence Day.
