The Providence Day Chargers continue to set the standard for athletic excellence across North Carolina.
At the annual North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) conference meeting on June 16, Providence Day was awarded its fourth consecutive Wells Fargo Cup, recognizing the school’s outstanding success across all athletic programs during the 2025-26 school year.
Presented by Wells Fargo Bank, the Wells Fargo Cup honors the NCISAA member school in each classification that demonstrates the highest level of overall athletic achievement. Since 1985, the award has been one of the state’s most prestigious athletic honors, recognizing schools that consistently excel across multiple sports throughout the year.
This year’s championship marks an incredible milestone for Providence Day Athletics. The Chargers have now claimed the Wells Fargo Cup 13 times since 1999, further cementing the school’s reputation as one of North Carolina’s premier athletic programs.
Providence Day’s success was fueled by an outstanding year of competition, highlighted by four NCISAA State Championships:

The Chargers also earned valuable Wells Fargo Cup points through impressive State Runner-Up finishes in:
